KGHF Office Fitout
2022 - Kelowna, BC
Meiklejohn Architects provided full architectural services for the fit out of an empty shell space into a new office for the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation (KGHF) in the UBC Academic Campus Building directly south the new KGH Building. We worked closely with Sticks and Stones Interior Design to develop a concept of bright and airy offices which brought light into the corridors through fully glazed sliding doors and clerestory windows built out of a demountable partition system that was built on site. The boardroom was designed for acoustics and aesthetics using acoustic panels and a wood-look acoustic feature ceiling that also frames the reception desk and waiting area. The common kitchen was made welcoming through the use of light and minimal millwork accented by wood shelving and tabletops.
We were also involved in customizing the exterior glazing panels to suit the areas where privacy was required through the introduction of green spandrel glass panels which matched the window treatment of the floor above making it appear like a seamless addition. As part of the exterior modifications was the creation of new entry door leading straight to the reception area.
