KF Centre For Excellence won big at the 2023 Thompson Okanagan Commercial Building Awards ceremony Thursday night at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna.

The KF Centre for Excellence at B.C.’s Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is designed after the wishes of the founder of KF Aerospace—a Canadian aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul company—to “make it feel like a plane” and “use wood wherever possible.”

The terraced design of a proposed mixed-use development by the Gyro Beach in Kelowna reflects a unique response to adjust the buildings’ massing to harmonize with the size and surroundings of the neighbouring structures and streetscape.

The KF Aerospace Centre of Excellence has been awarded the Sansin Sponsorship Award by the The Wood Design & Building Awards presented by the Canadian Wood Council.
