For their new 6,000-square-foot office building, the owners of Beeline Web internet search company wanted a state of the art “green building” to reinforce core business values and attract high quality employees. The design incorporates locally sourced glulam beams, a solid timber roof deck, a reflective roof membrane, high fly-ash concrete, low-E glass, solar shading on the south side, operable windows, and an exterior cladding of local stone veneer and aluminum curtain wall glazing. Heating and cooling are provided by a vertical geothermal system. Additional features include a personal fitness room and shower areas, and a rainwater collection system that irrigates an organic garden. This project is registered with the Canadian Green Building council and was designed targeting a LEED® Gold equivalency.
