Stober Group has been honoured for its work on the Central Green development in downtown Kelowna.
The company has received gold certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design 2010 homes rating system for its residences at 1730 and 1740 Richter St. The LEED program recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices in green building.
“We love where we live and take steps in all our developments to create green space and to reduce our carbon footprint,” Stober Group chief operating officer Dave McAnerney said in a press release. “We are particularly proud of the spectacular green spaces evolving in Central Green and our LEED gold certification, which combined sets a new standard of excellence in rental apartments in Kelowna.”
Stober Group believes the certification is an example of sustainability and demonstrates leadership in transforming the building industry.
“As a steward of the community, we strive to go above and beyond what is expected of us,” Stober Group development manager Bob Dagenais said. “With Central Green we are creating something very special and this LEED gold status indicates that we are on the right path.”
