Beeline Web

2009 - Lake Country, BC

Beeline Web was a rapidly growing internet-search company headquartered in Lake Country, B.C. For their new 6,000 sq. ft. office building on Highway 97, the client envisioned a state-of-the-art “Green Building” designed to reflect their core values and attract top-tier talent. The facility is registered with the Canada Green Building Council and was designed to achieve LEED Gold equivalency, although, LEED was not formally pursued due to cost considerations.

The design features a carbon-neutral, all-wood structure utilizing locally sourced glulam beams and a solid timber roof deck, complemented by high fly-ash concrete. The exterior envelope consists of local stone veneer and aluminum curtain wall glazing. A vertical geothermal field feeds a distributed heat pump system to provide efficient heating and cooling throughout the seasons.

Employee wellness is prioritized through a personal fitness room, shower facilities, and an organic garden irrigated by a rainwater collection system. The south-facing glazed wall utilizes low-emissivity glazing, solar sun-shading, and operable windows to manage thermal gain while providing ample natural light.
