Checkmate Winery

Meiklejohn Architects, as the local architect of record, worked with the design architect, Olson Kundig from Seattle Washington, to create an award-winning winery owned by the Mark Anthony Group that has been featured in several architecture and winery publications.
CheckMate winery was the revitalization of an aging concrete block production facility into one of the premier winery experiences in the Okanagan. The building features several interior and exterior tasting rooms that perch over the production facility for an immersive experience. The contrasting exterior colours and form was created to reference the local typography and the CheckMate Wine branding.
