Brookside Affordable Rental Apartments

Meiklejohn Architects is providing full architectural services for a new approximately 55,000 sf, 49-unit affordable rental housing project for Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) located near Capri Mall. Amenities include a Level 1 common room opening onto a newly created riparian creek interface, and a Level 2 common room partially dedicated to support services for residents requiring housing assistance.
The architectural expression responds to the adjacent creek through a continuous material language that extends from the roof plane to grade, drawing from the movement and character of the watercourse while reinforcing the building’s connection to its landscape setting through a glass wall that spans from the main entry and throughout the Level 1 amenity space.
