Ashnola Leadership Lodge
2024 - Princeton, BC
|
Meiklejohn Architects provided full architectural services for the new Ashnola Lodge, a new dormitory building for Young Life Canada at the Rock Ridge Canyon Camp located close to Princeton B.C. The project includes 74 beds in 19 dormitory style rooms, 2 common kitchens lounges serving as gathering spaces for the residents. The project serves as much needed accommodation for the staff and camp leaders during the summer months and was completed with Ledcor Construction who worked as the Construction Manager through design and construction.
The project is our second residential building at Rock Ridge and stylistically complements the Wolfe Creek Lodge completed in 2012 with a focus on the exterior design and details to create two buildings that form a ‘set’. Cement panel and real stone cladding make up the majority of the material palette with aluminium glazing at entrances and patios. The vaulted ceiling in the level 2 common room offers direct views to The Pinnacle; a steep hill situated in the valley that is iconic to the camp. |
